Dementia Training

To Whom It May Concern:

I recently had the opportunity to take part in a dementia training, conducted by Mayberry Senior Services Owner Jessica Lager and Executive Director Risa Vallano. 

I have been a caregiver for my 81-year-old father with dementia, since February 2023.  I am new to dementia and needed some training.

The training put on by Jessica and Risa was educational, interesting, and most of all eye opening to what a dementia patient experiences on a daily basis.  During this training you are immersed into the world of what a dementia patient goes through.  This firsthand training and experience was extremely overwhelming and has allowed me to gain a better understanding and perspective to what my father experiences on a daily basis.  I hope to be a more patient caregiver and son, while caring for my father.

I truly feel everyone who is either currently caring for a loved one with dementia or plans to attempt to care for a loved one, this training should be mandatory. 

If you and your loved ones have an opportunity to experience the loving, caring family environment created by Mayberry, as well as experience their valuable dementia training, do not hesitate, you will be appreciative of the experience and you will want to share with others in similar situations.
